Jewellery Care

All James and Irisa jewellery pieces are handmade in Melbourne with solid gold and natural gemstones. All our jewellery can be cleaned using a jewellery cloth. While every piece of jewellery is durable for everyday wearing, it is advised to remove them when swimming, showering, applying lotions and perfumes and makeup.

All textures on James and Irisa jewellery are hand carved. When cleaning the textures, please be careful as some jewellery polishing cloths may leave residues within the textures.

All diamonds used in James and Irisa jewellery are conflict-free and hand picked with highest quality in the class.

All of opals used in James and Irisa jewellery are premium quality solid natural Australian opals and natural Australian black opal doublets. Opal is a soft stone when comparing to Diamond, Sapphire and Ruby. etc., so it is important to treat your opal jewellery carefully in order to avoid damaging it. Remove your opal jewellery if there is a chance it will be scratched, broken or any other harsh environment. Generally, opal contains 4%-5% water. It is highly advised to avoid very dry conditions or rapid changes in temperature to prevent the opal from cracking. Opal should be cleaned gently with mild detergent in warm water and a soft toothbrush or cloth. Never clean your opal jewellery in an ultrasonic cleaner, since the vibration will cause opal cracking. Also, avoid bleach and chemicals cleaners. If your James and Irisa jewelry is an opal doublet jewellery, please do avoid water as well.
