Jewellery Care
All James and Irisa jewellery pieces are handmade in Melbourne with solid gold and natural gemstones. All our jewellery can be cleaned using a jewellery cloth. While every piece of jewellery is durable for everyday wearing, it is advised to remove them when swimming, showering, applying lotions and perfumes and makeup.
Textures
All textures on James and Irisa jewellery are hand carved. When cleaning the textures, please be careful as some jewellery polishing cloths may leave residues within the textures.
Diamonds
All diamonds used in James and Irisa jewellery are hand picked with highest quality in the class, and are all within UN regulated guidelines regarding ethical and sustainable practice. For diamonds, it is the hardest among all gemstones, but it still need a caution for everyday wearing. Please do not make a direct crush on the diamonds surface and girdle. In order to keep the diamond in a good condition for a long time, it is recommended to avoid chemical compounds like any detergent, shampoo, body washer etc. If your diamond jewellery ever had a contact with these chemical matters above, please use clean warm water to wash it off immediately.
Sapphires
All sapphires used in James and Irisa jewellery are natural sapphires. All sapphires are guaranteed to be natural and genuine. Unless it is stated as unheated, all sapphires we used are been simple heated following industry standard. The sapphire is a very hard gemstone which is the second top on the gemstone hardness list just below the diamonds. So it is very tough and durable for everyday wearing. But certain cautions are still requited for wearing a sapphire jewellery everyday, like please do not make a direct crush on the sapphire surface and girdles. In order to keep the sapphire in a good condition for a long time, it is recommended to avoid chemical compounds like any detergent, shampoo, body washer etc. If your sapphire jewellery ever had a contact with these chemical matters above, please use clean warm water to wash it off immediately.
Opals
All of opals used in James and Irisa jewellery are premium quality natural Australian opals, which are sourced from local miners. All James and Irisa solid opal jewellery are safe to wear in water. Opal is a soft stone when comparing to Diamond, Sapphire and Ruby, etc., so it is important to treat your opal jewellery carefully in order to avoid damaging it. Remove your opal jewellery if there is a chance it will be scratched, broken or any other harsh environment. And avoiding directly crash the opal onto hard surfaces. Generally, opal contains 4%-5% water. It is highly advised to avoid very dry conditions or rapid changes in temperature to prevent the opal from cracking.
Opal should be cleaned gently with mild detergent in warm water and a soft cloth. Never clean your opal jewellery in an ultrasonic cleaner, since the vibration will cause opal cracking. Also, avoid bleach and chemicals cleaners. If your James and Irisa jewelry is a natural opal doublet jewellery, please do avoid water as well. If any chance that the opal doublet jewellery contact water, please use tissue paper to dry it as soon as possible.
